Whether you want a pale Scandinavian look, a warm natural oak, a sophisticated grey or a dramatic dark floor, Jax Oleum provides the flexibility to create a distinctive finish without concealing the wood’s natural beauty.
Every timber surface absorbs colour differently. The final appearance will be influenced by the wood species, grain, preparation, sanding method and chosen colour. Always approve a physical sample before the full floor is finished.
Note: Professional preparation and application are strongly recommended for flooring installations.

Application methods vary depending on the stain, oil, lacquer or varnish being used. Always follow the manufacturer’s Technical Data Sheet and confirm whether a conditioner, primer or compatible sealer is required.
Apply the product evenly and work in manageable sections to avoid overlaps, colour variation and visible application marks. Follow the direction of the wood grain unless the manufacturer specifies a circular application method.
Remove excess product within the recommended working time. Leaving the stain on longer may produce a deeper colour, while earlier removal generally creates a lighter finish. Some systems may require additional coats or a compatible protective sealer.
Allow every coat to dry fully for the period specified in the Technical Data Sheet before applying another product or using the floor.
Pro tip: Always wear suitable protective gloves and test the complete finishing system on an offcut of the actual flooring before application.
Stir or shake the product thoroughly before application to distribute any settled pigments evenly.
Suitable for small areas, edges, repairs and touch-ups.
Apply the oil using an applicator pad or lint-free cloth, working it into the wood in a circular motion. Allow it to penetrate for the period specified by the manufacturer typically 5–10 minutes before removing all excess with a clean cloth.
Additional applications may be required depending on the product and desired finish. Always follow the relevant Technical Data Sheet.
Pro tip: An applicator pad provides greater control and can reduce product waste.
Recommended for larger floors and restoration projects.
Apply the oil in small, manageable sections using a floor-buffing machine fitted with a red application pad. Allow the oil to penetrate for the recommended period before removing all surplus product with a clean white buffing pad.
Continue section by section until the entire floor has been treated evenly.
Pro tip: Complete a final buff using a fresh white or beige pad to achieve a smooth, consistent finish.
